More Heady Pursuits

Yesterday’s post offered fanciful headdresses. So from fantasy to practicality:
CC devotes this brisk Sunday to warm winter hats . . . be cosy and fashionable, darlings!
At left, a gorgeous Burberry newsboy, available at Neiman Marcus.
The cloche is right in step with autumn’s lovely ladylike look. See “Blair Waldorf” above, and a polished urban bowler look from Jean-Paul Gaultier's Fall 2008 runway.
Credits: runway pics via nymag.com. Gossip Girl stills courtesy gossipgirlinsider.com.
Get the retro look! If you feel like a splurge, try this bold orange Coach wool Lydia hat (right).
CC also adores this Banana Republic aubergine wool cloche, and it’s just $49.
Or, if you want to get the trend on the cheap, opt for this abstract pale gray wool cloche, a mere $12.80 at forever21.com!

Also, consider a bowler and/or a fedora this season!
Now, for the extra-warm wooly ones!
Mischa Lampert Nolita Hat with fur pom poms. Visit shopbop.com for this and next 2.
Sunshine & Shadow rabbit-fur trim hat.
Antik Batik Figo Hood – genius hat/scarf combo! Compare the Mara Hoffman runway look!
Eugenia Kim graphic houndstooth alpaca earflap hat, at bunnyhug.co.uk.
Vanessa Deutsch fur and tweed trapper hat, at asos.com.
CC loves the Shapka (an oversize Russian fur hat). At left, a runway look from Trussardi.
This cuddly black Les Prairies De Paris piece is the ultimate in luxury, at lagarconne.com.
Fear not, there’s faux: Gorin Trooper hat, $48 at asos.com.
The beret is indispensable this winter! CC loves the ones that actually cover one’s ears, like Nicole Miller showed on the runway (yellow knit, at left). Get the look with this Eugenia Kim Monique chunky knit patterned beret, at shopbop.com.
If you prefer something a bit more petite, take a cue from this model at James Coviello and opt for this
Lola buckle beret.
How 80s Prince is this shade, dolls?
Go to intermixonline.com to purchase.
Feeling a tad cheekier? Try this whimsical mohair-blend Popcorn beret, $34 at urbanoutfitters.com.
Plaid is rad! Get this adorable beige knit cap with plaid brim at gap.com.
How Gossip Girl is this red plaid Scotty cap? For purchase at fredflare.com.
This mint green plaid newsboy is one of many cute toppers at sandiegohat.com.
CC rather adores this Forever 21 plaid trapper. Lumberjack chic, anyone?
Something for the gents (CC loves this photo from Fellow Fashionista Dapper Kid). A skullcap is so flattering on a man, in CC’s humble opinion.

CC gives props to any guy brave enough to experiment with a patterned cap like this John Smedley lambswool striped hat.
This and next at asos.com.
Stay warm and sexy, gentleman, with this The North Face Hoser hat.
CC leaves you on this bright sunshiny Sunday with a photo of (newly discovered) chic Fellow Fashionista Rebeca of Consecuencias. Click here to visit her, and enjoy the rest of your weekend, darlings!

Hats are fun and, being from Canada, it's nice when they keep your head warm too! I love the buckle one best.

i love love the cloche, but i always feel a little foolish wearing hats. it's almost like there's this elite society of people who can pull off a hat
maybe i need to retry it though, given my penchant for wearing headbands and headscarves!
