A Word, Please

Fashion has a message, darlings. And sometimes it ain’t so subtle! At Viktor & Rolf (right), it was in three dimensions. At PPQ (left), it was cheekily art-y. From the sublime to the ridiculous, from block letters to barely visible script, words were the word on the runways for both Fall 2008 and Spring 2009!

Can I buy a vowel please? Or, for the woman who wants her clothes to speak for her.

I love words. I am not sure if I would wear clothing with words on them. I am not even a fan of labels on clothing. But, I do like the extreme language of the Viktor& Rolf. It is fun for runway.

Thanks for sharing with us some fashion that encourages reading!xo

Wonderful! I love reading on other's t-shirts. A lot of the t-shirt with words printed on are kind of stupid, but these pics where not!

i'm always tempted to get shirts with words printed on them but then I don't. I guess it seems like such a statement to have words all over you!

I really do like this look, but I'm not sure if I like this on me as much as a wall, or a taller person, perhaps?

Ungaro's dress isn't saying anything that loudly but that's good enough for me. Anything that gives texture to an elegant dress is welcome.

Today's craving was worse after not having anything naughty for a day! 14 days of bliss that's what I'm hoping for. are you with me? or are you heading out to get some brownies for me? :)

I think all these statements, writing etc on garments is so interesting.I love particular the 3D words on garments in V&R's collection. I's love that on a bag, easier to wear.
Henry Hollands line is so cheeky, gotta love it!

So, shall we state something else in our clothes? Something like feelings, or ideas? That would be great, wouldn't it?
Meanwhile, I'll re-take all my t-shirts with messages!
Great post and blog, love it! I'll come by more times!

Oh my gosh that Viktor & Rolf coat is beautiful... though not too wearable sadly. Unless you're really brave! ;) I think Henry Holland does words the best, loved the formatting he uses and the clever rhymes. :)

I am always in two minds around slogan clothing, sometimes it looks fantastic, and other times somewhat trashy. That being said I love all of these choices, and I personally have a House of Holland slogan t-shirt that is borderline trashy, but in a good way :)
