yes lumberjack is still chic! it has to be, since i'm still coveting the print. i don't own any lumberjack pieces but i am so in love with that jillian lewis plaid short sleeve armour jacket. the tailoring is so amazing! you could wear it with a skirt or with jeans (they would probably have to be slim fitting though) and look amazing.
and thank you so much for your comment CC! it really means a lot to me. :D

This is by ar my most loved Fall trend. I love the ay a red plaid top looks with black skinny jeans. So I guess it really is chic.

ith the Fall shows coming soon, I guess it on't be for long. I think it's more od a Fall trend. It usually doesn't look good in winter. <3

Plaid is def. fashionable. I just wouldn't rock a plaid shirt with jean overalls because that's just too much for me.

I love the celeb pictures you picked. I think lumberjack is still chic and even if not, I like to wear it! I have an old lumberjack's jacket which I love to wear, it's just so cosy. I got it over eBay some years ago because I'm really into NIRVANA (the band) and grunge, and the lumberjack's shirt is one of the trademark grunge clothes. I love that 'Twiggy' plaid coat.

Guess so..I like the way it looks on Elle, but it's not for me. Reminds me too much of when I was in high school and everybody listened to Nirvana.

Yes! I love it. It is a bit of a throwback to early-90's grunge, except that the tailoring of the flannels featured here is infinitely better. One note: you must look bathed to pull it off now - the homeless look is *not* chic! Sweety P is correct...overalls of any fabric should be burned. They might be the least fabulous item of clothing ever invented.

Yep! I love it in colours such as purple, blue, black, white, pink... and in the Burberyy Prorsum S/S 09 campaign there are plaid shirts!! so yes, it's chic and it will be trendy next year too ^^

Zang Toi had some great tartan that I had my eye on. I can't stand casual button-down plaid shirts though. I lived through that look several times already.

It better still be chic, because I'm still lusting over it and have yet to actually invest in a good buffalo plaid piece.

Also wanted to tell you THANKS because I found some really great blogs in your link section!

I really like the look of it. I don't have any in my closet but every time I find a lumberjack shirt by Ralph Lauren for men I snap it up for my Woozle. I think he looks sexy in lumberjack, even sexier than the Brawny guy.;-)

my theory on this trend: if the economy continues to decline, we will see this everywhere ~ ala, the early 90's ...again, when the economy was in the shitter.

clareassiral said...

plaids/lumberjack/tartan/checks whatever you wish to call it, would seldom look dated, pick a plaid shirt from the vintage store and it looks like any other piece from a high street brand!

i say yes to plaids!

thank God, yes! lovely pieces!
