I'd rather just wear a real bustier. I'm so uncomfortable wearing belts and the bigger they are, the worse I feel!
Hey Carrie. Wow! Those are some big belts. Some of them do look more like bustiers than an average belt. Neat pictures. Hope you have a good day. Cheers!
those are nice belts.
i remember i used to have that kind of belt...it was a wide belt.
i think the idea of wide belt comes from Japanese wearing their national costume. They called it "OBI" belt.
Lovely corset belts, darling! Are they back again? Great!
xoxo
I love these kind of belts!! I want it!!
I love big belts! especially the fist ones (Dior, Givenchy & Mcqueen).
xx
how fabulous! wish i was taller so can wear big belts!
xx
I love and I have two Cavalli cum bustier-cum belt. I adore them...
Great post, Carrie!

Oh, I love this look with the formal dress-surprisingly! Carrie, honestly how do you always find so many wonderful photos?! Hope you are having a great day! xx
The belts are beautiful! Stunning x
I kinda like this trend.. I'm just not sure if it's wearable much. nonetheless lovely belts! :)
Wow!!!Cool belts!!I wanna have one of this:(
that mcqueen belt is amazing.
I have never worn a bustier. I think they are so sexy.
This is so flattering! A wonderful trend.
Thanks for the link, btw :)
I wish i can wear big belts like that =( I have a short torso so it does not look good on me. Still fabulous though!
i'm still searching for the perfect way to wear these bustier-belts...thanks for all the inspiration, darling!
I like big belts, but I sometimes feel like people don't know how to wear them the right way. You can't jut wear a big belt with anything.
hm i love big belt too.. they are still in trend :)
but not toooo big one hehe
it makes me look weird and i think
i'll wear bustier instead
have a great week ahead
lovelove <3,

This can be a really cool look. My fav is the Marc Jacobs...it looks so beautiful styled in a vintage way like that!
I totally love these !
Dell'Acqua has anticipated everything in his past, amazing collections... and I've been addicted to these belt since back then ! ( uao, don't know if this sounds even remotely english xD ).
Love love love. And wear them a lot, too !
Ooh, that Betsey J print is gorgeous!!
I love this look. My Stylefinds editor was at NYFW and she fell head over heels for it--she couldn't stop talking about belts like these ones when she returned!
I really like the big belt look, although it must be a tad difficult to work ordinarily in a look! I absolutely adore the Baby Phat look, and that Cynthia Rowley belt is beautiful.
That would be the fabulous Audrey Hepburn [in the profile pic] :)
I thought she looked lovely, doesn't she? Well, she always does.
btw, I just noticed you got City and Colour as favorite music on your profile!! I LOVE IT!! Adam Green is amazing, I'm such a fan. My choice for this year's birthday gift (the Ibanez guitar) was influenced by Green's guitar on the video for "Comin' Home" ^^
there is a contest in my blog. go there ;) kiss
I really like some of those belts! Not sure it's very comfortable to wear for a long time though...

I adore big belts; though I don't think I would ever try to pull one off. They are completely fabulous - and gorgeous - though.
Oh thank you:) I really like the clothes that you posted:) Specially those corset belts! I´ve never found a good one to buy for myself:(
Hi CC!
Totally agree with you!
xx
hmmm this is something i actually can't see myself wearing!
although it looks stunning on others.
if i was going to wear something so tight i would probably wear a full corset, but i truly do not think i could pull that off either!
xx
I like the tapered ones as featured on McQueen because they conform to your figure. But the other ones just leave you with upper and lower love handles!
Wow I love your blog! It is so inspiring. The marc jacobs piece here is my fav.
Wow these are fabulous. I lovee that throwback photo from Vogue. So gorgeous! I'm glad that this trend is being recycled and revamped!
That Cynthia Rowley belt is just to die for, and I think the Betsey Johnson is very cute :)
thanks for those great "belt ideas" ;-)
these are so cool. I kind of want one but I'm not sure how it would look on me...
It's uncomfortable -but looks hell great.

Thanks for ur sweet comment!:)
These belts DO look like bustiers! But the effect they create...that slim shape...I think I need one right now!:P
XX
The bustier style belt from Marc Jacobs and Mcqueen S/S09 epitomize this post! Takin' it back to the renaissance.

This post has just convinced me that I need one in black. A less fetish-y alternative to a corset, I think! I can imagine a myriad of outfits as I write...
Bisous,
La C.
i love the leather ones. but wendyb is right... how do you go about sitting down in one of these?
Hi!

Your blog is fabulous by the way! That top banner is hot!
Haha, its the new corset! Cute belts!
slimming and posture correcting...but man, i can imagine the marks embedded in one's skin after taking one of these off - yikes!

PPS: you? boombox in the 80s? i can't believe it! pfft...i grew up in bklyn...it was a requirement!
Hot belts! mmm love the feel of your blog ;)
There like... waist corsets. I LOVE THEM! Especially that leopard print one, which says something because I don't own a thing in leopard print!

I don't think i will be able to pull off this look..but I sure love it on the runways! I prefer a skinny belt on the waist :P

I so love them ...I just wish they were more comfortable for daily wear ...I hate feeling like I can't breathe!
Oh I love this look and belts like that...they can make your waist look tiny. love all the pics and examples!
xx
love the vest in the 6th picture && im so into all of those belts! anyway thanks for your comment on my blog and i know - even if we weren't in a recession, 20k for a dress. WHAT!? they're bullshitting anyone who buys those (pardon my french)

i love this look but don't think I could do it. I hate when things constrict my waist. I have a bit of a belly and it always screams NO when I try to put something tight around it. HAHA
i love wide belts. they really do a good job of slimming the waist and tucking in the tummy. haha aren't they also called obis?
so sexy and feminin !!
