I'd rather just wear a real bustier. I'm so uncomfortable wearing belts and the bigger they are, the worse I feel!

Hey Carrie. Wow! Those are some big belts. Some of them do look more like bustiers than an average belt. Neat pictures. Hope you have a good day. Cheers!

those are nice belts.
i remember i used to have that kind of belt...it was a wide belt.
i think the idea of wide belt comes from Japanese wearing their national costume. They called it "OBI" belt.

I like big belts, but I sometimes feel like people don't know how to wear them the right way. You can't jut wear a big belt with anything.

I love this look. My Stylefinds editor was at NYFW and she fell head over heels for it--she couldn't stop talking about belts like these ones when she returned!

I really like the big belt look, although it must be a tad difficult to work ordinarily in a look! I absolutely adore the Baby Phat look, and that Cynthia Rowley belt is beautiful.

That would be the fabulous Audrey Hepburn [in the profile pic] :)
I thought she looked lovely, doesn't she? Well, she always does.

btw, I just noticed you got City and Colour as favorite music on your profile!! I LOVE IT!! Adam Green is amazing, I'm such a fan. My choice for this year's birthday gift (the Ibanez guitar) was influenced by Green's guitar on the video for "Comin' Home" ^^

I adore big belts; though I don't think I would ever try to pull one off. They are completely fabulous - and gorgeous - though.

hmmm this is something i actually can't see myself wearing!
although it looks stunning on others.

if i was going to wear something so tight i would probably wear a full corset, but i truly do not think i could pull that off either!

I like the tapered ones as featured on McQueen because they conform to your figure. But the other ones just leave you with upper and lower love handles!

The bustier style belt from Marc Jacobs and Mcqueen S/S09 epitomize this post! Takin' it back to the renaissance.

This post has just convinced me that I need one in black. A less fetish-y alternative to a corset, I think! I can imagine a myriad of outfits as I write...

i love this look but don't think I could do it. I hate when things constrict my waist. I have a bit of a belly and it always screams NO when I try to put something tight around it. HAHA

Nina (Femme Rationale) said...

i love wide belts. they really do a good job of slimming the waist and tucking in the tummy. haha aren't they also called obis?
