I tried on a bustier for the first time recently and now I'm thinking I HAVE to save up for one. I have my eye on one by Vancouver-based designer Malene Grotrian.

I love corsets, however I never look right in them and I kind of feel like a 16 year old goth kid because I never get it right.

Rachel Roy was by far my favorite. I've got that one saved in my lookbook as well! ^_^

Funny _ I USED to wear corsets all the time. Back when I had no business wearing them as I was quite overweight and pudgy.

Nowadays, i still have them but I just can't bring myself to wear them. That's not to say I don't adore Corset Dresses because I do wear those with aplomb!

But corsets by themselves have taken a back seat in my style.

That said, I do have a tasteful beige and cream french etoile print one by Shoshanna that I bought on Bluefly in 2004! I think I might break that one out soon, with a nice skirt - if I ever have the occassion to wear it!

Great post

PS - word verification is Grande - as in the way your rack looks when you wear a corset ;)

Jenni Kayne is a genius. I love how she used nerdy chic as the motif for her line this season.

oh, i love that orange and pink number! Beautiful. I have never worn a corset other than once in college. I worry it doesn't look very flattering but maybe I will give a dress with one a try:)
