What’s Sexy Now, TAG and Contest Winner!

I. Here’s what CC feels is SEXY right NOW:
A Night at the Museum. At left, a Vogue November 2004 editorial by Annie Leibovitz.
Grab your gal pals or a hunky man and go take in a gallery or two some evening. Many museums have special evening hours and rates, like First Thursdays at the Wadsworth Atheneum. Take advantage!
An album for thoughts and confessions. Keep it on the coffee table at your house with an elegant fountain pen atop it and see what guests have to say! Proust Questionnaire album available at thefutureperfect.com.
Being in your 30s (or 40s... or older!). Drew Barrymore in W. As George Bernard Shaw quipped, “Youth is wasted on the young”!
Fab knockoffs like these Balmain-ish Jeffrey Campbell Mel sandals, at solestruck.com.
Lounging in one’s finery. Jalouse editorial by David Bellemere.
All-season neckwear like these mosaic print scarves at dyaccessories.com. By the by, CC’s Creative Contrast Tolani Scarf Giveaway Winner is fablous Fellow Fashionista Black Patent Stilettos – Congrats, darling!
Tall Girls wearing heels. Alexander Wang and model in Vogue. 5’10”? Wear platforms! Tower over the competition, darlings!
Oversize menswear-inspired timepieces. Freelook watch at pinkmascara.com.
Models with breasts (and hips!). These two photos courtesy W.
Paste. Not for kids! Lanvin strass crystal cuff, at net-a-porter.com.
Vegan shoes like these Stella McCartney metallic bow sandals, available at intermixonline.com.
What do YOU think is sexy now, darling readers?

II. Tagged by the lovely Adela of Pink Champagne to respond and rework the famed Blogger Questionnaire. CC can’t resist this one, as it continues to evolve!
What are your current obsessions?
Open-toe booties. Emilio Pucci mesh boots available at net-a-porter.com.
Favorite decade for vintage clothing?
50s and 60s, particularly bracelet-sleeve coats, mod minidresses and vintage furs.
Last thing you bought?
This merrywidow from Victoria’s Secret.
What are you listening to right now?
American Football, Broken Social Scene, and Nada Surf. Also totally obsessed with the unreleased Marz song from that car commercial with the hamsters
Favorite season and why?
Fall, for the crisp air and crunchy leaves.
What is on your bureau?
A small jewelry chest and numerous porcelain plates and bowls with all my trinkets and baubles. At left, Numero editorial, May 2008.
Say something to the person who tagged you:
Adela, thank you for being an amazing and inspired blogger, and for tagging me!
If you could have a house totally paid for, fully furnished anywhere in the world where would it be?
My answer to this one changes with each incarnation of this survey… Right now, I am thinking St. Barts!
Guiltiest pleasure you're willing to admit here?
Eating almond butter straight from the jar.
Name the things you can't live without right now?
Strong coffee, fine lingerie, jumpsuits (at left, Theory j-suit, at Bergdorf Goodman), rooftop cocktails with friends, and backyard barbecues with family (photo at top of Part II via Italian D).
What would you like to have in your hands right now?
TastiDLite or Pinkberry.
Favorite tea flavor?
Vanilla caramel.
Are you happy with yourself?
For the most part, yes. I do struggle with my weight a bit since I am Type A, but who doesn’t? I wouldn’t mind looking like this (vintage Lohan at left, via Vanity Fair).
Favorite brands of jeans?
J. Brand; True Religion; Superfine ~ these skinny leg blue jeans are half price at theOutnet.com – CC’s new fave online shopping site!
What style trend is the hardest for you to adopt?
Gladiator sandals, especially flats. I know, I’m going to be shunned by the fashion world. Perhaps if I had these Balmains from shopbop.com…
If you could go anywhere in the world in the next hour where would you go?
Jackson Hole, Wyoming. (Inspiration: Fellow Fashionista Blair of Delight by Design)
What is your favorite scent?
Hanae Mori.
Who are your current fashion icons?
Off-duty models and 80’s-90’s supermodels ~ 1988 Versace ad at right.
Tell me your dreams:
I dream of living in a duplex in Manhattan with park views. I dream of making a living by blogging. I dream of Balenciaga dresses and Oscar de la Renta gowns. I dream of unconditional love, peace and happiness.
Per usual, CC tags all of her Fellow Fashionistas and Followers to do this tag – it gets better every time!
xoxox,
CC

I think the sexiest thing now and forever is confidence...someone who is comfortable in their own skin. Those Jeffrey Campbell's are insane...so hot! I also love the Proust Questionnaire idea. Also, museums are one of my favorite hangouts...I don't know what it is about the mix of history and knowledge.

Agreed. Susan really does not need a makeover. I mean come on. Really? She's amazing enough as it is and the fact that she doesn't "look" the part of a "star" only adds to her uniqueness you know?

Love that cuff! As for the gladiator sandals you should try a gold pair! I lived in mine last summer so much so they are all broken now (can't bring myself to throw them away until I find another good gold pair) but the colour makes them so much more fun to wear and less harsh than black :) x
