5 Questions for Ren Ren of Makeup By Ren Ren:
1) When did you decide to become a makeup artist and why? Have you had any famous clients?
I decided to start doing makeup professionally just early this year. Like most of my readers, I started out with a passion for makeup. I always loved applying it on myself and friends. Once I started my blog, the beauty bug really started to get to me. My readers will tell you that I am just like everyone else…I just decided to turn my passion into a profession. One day I thought, "Hey, I can do that!" Seeing the transformation process and the look on the client’s face afterwards makes it all worthwhile. It’s also fabulous to get paid for doing something you love! So after a lot of research and self-taught practice, I finally put myself out there. I consider every client I do a celebrity in my eyes…but no famous clients…not yet at least!
2) Why did you start blogging and what is the best part about our online community?
I started blogging almost one year to date. Makeup By Ren Ren all began in late November of 2007. The best part of the online community is the blogging family you become a part of. I feel very close to my fellow bloggers and always have someone to turn to when I have a question about anything from makeup to my personal life. I love my blogging sisters!
3) If you could only take one beauty item to a desert island with you, what would it be?
Sunscreen! I’d use it as a lotion/sunscreen protectant. I actually don’t wear makeup on a daily basis because I’m lazy, lol, but good makeup starts out with good skin. Start wearing that sunscreen ladies and gents!
4) Which nail and eye colors are hot for autumn?
Wine colors are hot for nails right now. I’m currently wearing OPI’s Lincoln Park After Midnight…a beautiful deep purple color. For the eyes, think smoky grays, purples, and blues. Fall usually lends to darker colors. But then again, that are no rules to makeup as long as it’s done correctly and with confidence. If you want to rock that hot pink into the fall, you go girl!
5) Which of the collections do you think had the most stunning makeup?
I loved the Proenza Schouler line from this Fall. The models rocked bright cobalt blue eyeshadow. I’m loving bold colors on the runway.

A big thank you to Ren Ren! Visit her here to see her feature on CC!

I wish I could wear make-up like that! If I wear heavy and dark eyeshadow and so, my eyes look like tiny spots! ....

I love the drama but my eyes are not made to be made up like that.
flat lids with no crease. eye make up just smudges so easily and it's not a good look but they are so lovely to look at. :)

Blogger just gobbled up my comment. Dang.

They are so lovely to look at and Ren Ren's make up is cool.

My eyes are not 'built' to be made up like that though. It's sad that all the colours just smudge very quickly and that is not a good look for me. They are lovely to look at though.

Dramatic eyes always add an extra punch to any outfit, I always think of make up as one of those art forms that rarely gets the attention it deserves.

I think it looks FUN on the runway... but for me personally... mascara, lipstick and a little powder and I'm good to go! I don't think I'm bold enough for shocking shadow.
