Capes are one of my favorite womenswear garments for fall this year. There is something so elegant, glamorous and retro about them that I can't resist! My favorite is the Gaspard Yurchievich pleated cape. It is so simple and understated, but the pleating and cut make it interesting. I love the Diesel cape, the Fornarina capelet and the Marni look as well.

Capes are so chic. The long black ones remind me of a gal that is off to the theatre. You know I love the vintage inspired ones!

This reminds me, I have a cape (vintage and reversible) that I barely wore last year - time to pull it out again. Though I hope I didn't give it away!!

I love capes, especially the short ones..I love having free sleeves thoughit can make a shoulder bag quite tricky!!

I love capes. Remember the black one Carrie Bradshaw wore one episode? A cape paired with long gloves is so chic. I have a leopard Betsey Johnson cape I absolutely adore. I was just thinking about how much I can't wait to break it out for fall!

I passed on a wonderful fur cape at Goodwill (of all places) recently, thinking I could never pull it off. Oh boo. Now I want it and I'm a state away and I'm sure some lucky woman has it in her closet by now...

maybe I'll get lucky again and find another one :)

I am a sucker for capes. I bought a very nice and warm one from Express last season. I get compliments on it all the time. I will have to post it closer once the temperature starts dropping!

Fantastic! These will help inspire some outfits for Fall...My sweet neighbour had me over a few months ago and gave me her little fur cape -- she said that she was too old to sport it the way it ought to be and that I would probably get more use out of it. I nearly fell over!

Niki B. said...

capes and long gloves... love it for fall! xo

Quixsa said...

Such a fan of capes- wonderful post.

LadyLUX said...

Definitely capes this season! With capes, you have to be careful in how you wear them. If you are short and / or curvy, a short cape won't work, but a long flowy one can look amazing. I love how many different looks can be created with capes. Add the multitudes of textures, and you have a cape for just about any occasion. I personally dig the blue Marc Jacobs long-ish flowing cape, with dark blue detailing. For a more streamlined and classic look, the Elizabeth and James City number is to die for!
