The New Plaid Dress

Plaid frocks these days are less lumberjack, more Scottish princess. Be sure to check out Jeffrey Banks’ new book, Tartan: Romancing the Plaid. Photo at right courtesy amazon.com.
There are so many amazing tartan dresses to choose from! But since we will have to delay the gratification of wearing most of these wonderful confections until fall, CC thought she'd provide at least one summer plaid: this Badgley Mischka Platinum Label strapless silk twill dress, available at neimanmarcus.com.

Just Cavalli Fall 2008 Collection . . . leopard tights, tartan frock & blazer - dizzyingly delicious!

2 runway looks from Martin Grant's Fall 2008 show - both belted at the waist; one short and red, the other long and dark, with a fabulous SATC-ish flower.

CC loves the bias cut of these gowns! Pictures via nymag.com.

Well I think I'll have to invest in it to fall.

Although i like plaid on others, I don't really wear it myself. It probably has something to do with all of those childhood years wearing plaid uniform. However, these dresses are simply stunning... I think I might be changing my mind, lol ... Great post, as always :)

I like it. A few years ago I got a Celine piece in plaid and it just has this comfort feeling. Casual and easy to wear.

I really love the first tartan dress, the bold color pattern adds a sort of playful touch to the dress. Thanks for the comment by the way! ^^

I'm a sucker for plaid. Not more than one plaid at a time, but I do love it.
