Baller

Darlings, the etymology of "baller" is fantastic, via fashion and fitness! Early usage dates to the 17th century, referencing those partaking in formal dances (Oxford English Dictionary, 1668). Modern takes are twofold. The majority holds that baller derives from basketballer circa 1980. Others attribute the term to the description of cocaine dealers of 8 balls in the same era. Baller currently functions as both a noun, describing a person with vibrato or who's made it big, and as an adjective: "that move was baller!"
