Zeal

If there’s one word that can sum up fall’s fervor it is ZEAL ~ everyone has an opinion about the previous 25 trends that CC just covered, and my Fellow Fashionistas are passionate in their predilections. This zealousness has been especially prevalent with respect to Balmain’s and Dsquared2’s Fall 2009 collections, so here’s a refresher (runway photos via style.com):

Leather motorcycle jacket. All Balmain pieces pictured courtesy net-a-porter.com.
Peak-shouldered leather jacket.
Pailette mini dress.
Suede zippered ankle boots.
Tell CC, which trends are you most zealous in defending?
What is your favorite collection or trend of the FW09 season?
Which pieces are you wearing most?
CC does hope that you have enjoyed this alphabetical primer, darlings. Would love your feedback on CC’s ABCs!

  1. I'm in love with zippers, lace, and stubs! I really into wearing boots this fall because there are so many cool new trends!

  2. Beautiful! A strong-shouldered jk is the must-have for the season! (I'm working on a DIY for turning a regular mandarin-collared jacket into a sharp-shouldered military jacket a a la Balmain...def. check out my blog below!)
Thanks, Couture Carrie, for the inspiration!

I really like the tough shoulder; I got a lovely blazer from Zara with hard shoulders that I'm wearing right now! =)

  16. It's all about the shoulders this season. Strong, attention-grabbing '80s chic combined with a shorter hemline in the skirt that is easily and effortlessly paired with opaque tights and ankle booties.

    Sensational!

That's what this bargainer has her eye on in regards to 'trending' right now.

  17. I love the 80's rocker chic look the most. What's most funny? Even though I've always loved MOST of the eighties fall trends, I told myself that I would NEVER buy a pair of skinny jeans! Guess what? I recently bought a pair! So yes I'm really loving this trend at the moment...

Btw, the commenting problem on my blog was recently fixed.

  24. Wonderful runway photos! Thank You for sharing!! I am in awe. The jackets are simply amazing. Being a huge fan of biker jackets, strong shouldered jackets and blazers, I loved looking at these photos. Wish I could wear them all year long. Paired with some boots and either mini dress or denim, loove!!

  27. When I first saw these pointy shoulders all I could think of was a mobster's wife. BUUUT they have totally grown on me. I even tried one on in Soho the other day and they look even better on. They really give a beautiful silhouette. I'm sold. No more mobtser wife haha

  39. Great looks here! I want a pair of those zipper boots. You know, there is a really fabulous DIY there to replicate those boots. I'm not sure how to do it but I have a feeling I might be seeing a crafty blogger or two try to attempt it soon. :P

  40. Peak-shoulders are nice. Giant football shoulders are not. I like a subtle, non-witchy-pointy shoulder myself. I like Balmain now (whereas I used to despise the poorgeois look)... Sequins are always good in my book, however.

  41. i LOVE the runway models with the coffee cups!

  47. I've read some negative reviews/posts of the Dsquared2's Fall Collection, but I like the lumberjack-inspired twist with the plaid accents and hats, just as long as it doesn't go overboard into "trashy". also love the peak-shouldered leather jacket, sequined dress and zippered boots. the boots are to die for. ah Balmain...
