And now, the houndstooth hype! The classic winter pattern has been reinterpreted and relaunched, with a special thanks to Alexander McQueen, whose runway rambunctiousness has fueled many a houndstooth creation. Runway coverage via style.com except where noted.

Congratulations to Not Fashionista. Call Me Stylista!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I have been coveting that Pleated Victoria Coat from Fred Flare since I first laid eyes on it a few months ago. That is the piece de resistance of houndstooth coats, if you ask me! :)
Also i love the fashions above I have a dislike of "houndstooth pattern". When I was a 'fillette' in France my maman dressed me in this pattern and somhow I disliked it, I wanted cigarette pants and other fashions which where in mamn's eyes a non-non (to sexy). I never got over it.
ReplyDeleteYou will forgive me this time gentille Carrie, oui?
All beautiful as ever, houndstooth just never looses the ability to flatter and accentuate. The LePore, McCartney and Sherman pieces are sensational.
ReplyDeleteHurry up autumn....
Oh I ADORE houndstooth! Such a classic pattern and the cut and color of these pieces make it look quite updated.
ReplyDeleteomg I LOVE this post!
ReplyDeleteI am obsessed with houndstooth and tweed...basically anything that makes me feel like an old time English gentleman haha which sounds weird I know, but blame it on Sherlock Holmes.
LOVE all the clothes!!
Congrats to the winnerlady!
ReplyDeleteLove it. I have got a skirt and boleros in this print. :-)
XoXo
ReplyDeletei have and always will be a fan of houndstooth!
ReplyDeleteMcQueen does it again!
ReplyDeletei'm all for a little houndstooth especially for the fall!
ReplyDeleteHoundstooth is one of my favourite prints, I remember having a skirt that I kept wearing and wearing when I was younger:) As usual, gorgeous picks!
ReplyDeleteI have a pink and brown houndstooth coat I bought years ago from Bebe - this makes me excited to wear it again. Well, somewhat (it's a warm coat therefore signifies winter)
ReplyDeleteI also had those houndstooth Steve Madden heels I was trying to sell cuz they were two sizes too big - ended up giving them to my bf's sister!
Totally in love with the Preen dress!
ReplyDeleteI love that design! so fun!
ReplyDeleteloving these different versions of houndstooth! love the Peter Jensen dress, CC! xo
ReplyDeleteI have a houdstooth jacket, i will have to wear it this fall then.
ReplyDeleteI've always love houndstooth but yes, it normally equates with cold weather so I can't wear it in the tropics.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove the Marc by Marc Jacobs Hayley Jacket!! xx
ReplyDeleteI love the last photo. So elegant.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the LARGE print type :)
ReplyDeleteI remember playing dress up with my mom's 80's houndstooth clothes. I love how it came back the last few seasons and hope it stays. It's so classy.
ReplyDeleteHappy sunny tuesday to you, CC!
ReplyDeleteThat Comme des Garcons look in a kind of ivory Houndstooth is adorable!!!!
Enjoy your day with lots of happy moments!!!

ReplyDeletelove this, i think it never goes out of style!
ReplyDeletelove love love! so classy and mature.
ReplyDeleteI love Houndstooth!
ReplyDeletePER-fect!!! thanks so much for this post...I have been absolutely loving houndstooth, but the question has been, how much is too much? Now I know. I want at least one HT skirt, if not more. And definitely a HT dress in a color other than black and white. yay!
ReplyDeleteOh I looove all the coats! So gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE houndstooth!! esp the black and whites!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my word, I just love Houndstooth! Last year in grad school (in Syracuse NY, aka the Arctic) all these girls had these adorable houndstooth earmuffs. I still kick myself for not purchasing a pair.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winner! What a timeless print! Love your selections!
ReplyDeleteGood eve! Wow at those outerwear...if I could own one of those I can promise Minnesota winter won't bother me one bit! haha! Would like to have that Bottega Veneta definitely.
ReplyDeletelove houndstooth! I especially like the Moschino dress and the fredflare Pleated Victoria coat.
ReplyDeleteI have a houndstooth mini to pair with leggings and I can't wait to wear it!
i love this print. it's even prettier in color. love the purple sequin dress!
ReplyDeleteYou're reminding me how much I love these cape-shaped coats with that Derek Lam look.
ReplyDeleteThe Marc Jacobs purple and pink jacket reminds me of Coco Chanel. And I was convinced the Forever 21 bow skirt was Marc Jacobs, but at a fraction of the price. Great picks.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the plain grey dress!
ReplyDeleteOh I was just drooling over that houndstooth Alexander McQueen the other day. Houndstooth always reminds me of my chic grandmother. She used to wear houndstooth suits a lot. I wish when I was younger, I was smart enough to have raided her closet ;)
ReplyDeletei find houndstooth to frequently look cheap
ReplyDeletebut the pieces youve chosen still stay chic
loving it...beautiful, thanks!

ReplyDeleteThank you for the birthday wishes, Carrie. It really means a lot to me.
ReplyDeleteI remember this pattern being "in" a few years ago. I guess it's making a come back. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot of it in winter, esp coats and scarves.
Hope you're having a great week, Carrie.
C.
i like to remain at the classic black and white version, i dont like when they come out with wild colors in it, it totally takes away the sophistication of it, but houndstooth is still an amazing piece of pattern to have in your wardrobe, for a coat! no doubt!
ReplyDeleteHi!!!
ReplyDeleteI really love your blog, you give me a lot of ideas!!!I send you a lot of kisses from Spain, if you want we can exchange links!!!

ReplyDeleteHi CC!
ReplyDeleteHow have you been lady? I apologize for the lack of comments, I've gotten so busy! Fall is so exciting, I love this post...all that tweed. FAB! Anyway, so love that mustard scarf in the 2nd photo. I'll have to find a knock off, loving that color!
Hope your doing well, ttys :D

i like this print but i am not very sure about it, i mean, 2 years ago, this pattern was very fashion and next year, it completely disappeared!!! i think, it could be a "second chance"
ReplyDeleteanyway, i feel more "sure" about tweed.
Love this look. The Alexander McQueen, Comme de Garcons, and Moschino are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLove houdstooth! What a great classic pattern! Perfect for fall/winter!
