P.S. Another amazing sale to check out: 75% off at Ron Herman.
I say for sales, get something you wouldn't be daring enough to get at full price. Last year, I almost got a pair of peeptoe booties in boring black, but I decided for the price that I was paying I should branch out and instead got a neutral color -- people admire them all the time! I don't think I would have enjoyed them as much in basic black.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips - loving those satin pumps!
ReplyDeletesALES SALES SALES!!:)
ReplyDeleteI often have my sale goggles on :( but then i ask myself it it wasn't said designer/on sale would I still want it. Navigating those sales are a tricky tricky thing!
ReplyDeleteI NEED Abaeté and this Halston dreeses, and this great white Loeffler Randall boots!
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh, the first one to comment how cool! Anyway, great picks. I have been eyeing Mulberry Baywater for a while now. That ostrich in hot pink is tooo savvy!

I tend to flip-flop between what WendyB does and just buying things I know I would get a lot of wear out of. This year during Boxing Week I bought a satiny halter vest, something I wouldn't normally go for, but I also stocked up on tights, undies, and bought an everyday cardigan.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fantastic sale items...that Mulberry bag is to die for! And who can ever resist 50-70% off?!
ReplyDeletexo
good point on the "sale goggles" I used to fall in that trap a lot. Now I only buy pieces that I really want regardless of sale but the sale price definitely helps!

the white abaete dress is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through a comment you left on that hilarious(!!!!) Rufus/Gossip Girl site. (Should I say that in public?) I'm not comfortable enough yet to admit I am a 'gossip girl fan' or even that I watch the show. I'm older than you so it looks really pathetic, but luckily I have teenage daughters I can pin it on. ("Oh well, the girls had that silly show on and I was in the living room folding laundry so I had to sit through the entire episode...yes, it was a really big load of laundry I had to fold...)
ReplyDeleteAnyway very glad my guilty and shameful pleasure lead me to your site! I am a jewelry designer who works from home and my couture could definately use some inspiration. My pathetic New Years resolution was to actually to get dressed in real clothes each day! (Sweats are so dang comfortable!)
A woman in her late thirties that folds laundry, watches tv, and lives in sweat pants. My... I am really painting an alluring and captivating portrait of myself.
At least my sweats and t's are always accesorized with awesome jewelry! ha!

Abaete is a fav of mine, and that one-shoulder number is a very flattering cut.
