Whether short sleeve or long, cropped or thigh skimming, the cardi is undeniably sexier and more wearable than ever!
Pair a button-front knit with jeans, a dress (as at Just Cavalli, below) or skirt, or even shorts (at right, street style at New York Fashion Weekfrom The Sartorialist).
Belt it for added interest (at left, Dennis Basso Spring 2009, via nymag.com) and experiment with layering different sleeve lengths! Below right, the 3/4 sleeve is truly glamorous at Michael Kors.

Love your new banner !
ReplyDeleteplus, so in love with the cashemire cardigans... And the Angela one !
Me gusta mucho el look formal aunque no para todos los dias, pero ahora va a estar de moda :)
ReplyDeleteUn besote
Amazing the amount of versatility in the different types of cardi's out there. I want the Rodarte cardi, but I would hang it on my wall and look at it lovingly everyday, I would be too scared to wear it in case I snagged it on something, or spilt something on it:)
ReplyDeleteooh, what great picks!! I'm loving all styles and all colours!!
ReplyDeletewhat a fun post-
ReplyDeletei love your blogchange
and im so in love with cardigans right now.. the bigger-the better..
hope youre doing great?
Love cardigans, and was thinking of doing a post about that as well, seeing I have about 40 in my closet. Its a very versatile garment and I love the way you showed dressed up and down, stripes and single colored!
ReplyDeleteI love cardigans, they are so warm and comfy... And in the cold Norwegian weather you really need them;)
ReplyDeletei love that green ruffled d&g sweater -- i'm so into things with ruffles right now. :)
ReplyDeleteyou always have the best images.
I just bought another basic black cardigan. You make me want to add a wild cardi to my collection.
ReplyDeleteI am loving the cardigans lately ...especially the long ones. I haven't seen a cardi comeback this strong since the late 90's.
ReplyDeletea boyfriend cardi. thats all i need
ReplyDeletexx.

ReplyDeleteSigh. Why can't it be summer always?
ReplyDeleteYour posts are always so perfect... I´m absolutely loving these cardigans, specially the ones with two colours!!
ReplyDeleteI never been a huge cardigan fan... however some of these cardigans you posted are just too lovely to resist! :D
ReplyDeleteBy the way, noticed your pictures and text get bounced all other the place...Blogspot generally does that when you start posting a bunch of pictures... do you want me to tell how you a different way I learned you can insert pictures and control where they go? :) Unless of course, you intentionally put your pictures in like this... then nevermind me! ;)
xoxo,
S-C

ReplyDeleteI love the long cardigans!
ReplyDeleteThere aren't many sweaters I've met that I haven't liked. Great picks! Thanks for stopping by to say hello - loving what I see here!
ReplyDeleteI'm a cardi woman! I have to be, weather is so variable on the island that we have to have cardigans. Besides we don't have heating at my office, and we have to wear them in cold time.
ReplyDeleteSo... I like to have a few....
You picked great ones. This year I bought a black wild one... let's see how I'll manage it ;)
Great post beautiful lady!
xoxo
After seeing this, I suddenly want my closet to be filled with lots of different and stylish cardigans. Haha. :P I love CC! ;)
ReplyDeleteThe Brigitte cardigan is so divine, and I love the Kishimoto one too. Cardigans are such a necessity for me, it's always cold in my office so they keep me nice and warm....now I'm off to scope out intermix hehe...
ReplyDeleteI'm inspired to get some cardis out of the mothballs now!
ReplyDeleteI take it back...this is my favorite post.
ReplyDeleteYay for cardis!

ReplyDeleteooh i love Isla. im sure her new movie will be fab shopaholic or something
I am a total sweater girl, CC. And I love so many of your choices. The vibrant green and orange. The retro looks, the asymmetric cardigan. Great stuff.
ReplyDeleteAnd great title too.
What a complete post! I gonna wear a cardigan tomorrow because of it.
ReplyDeleteC.
OMG I'm NEEDING all of those cardigans!!
ReplyDeleteI love cardigan... I want to find a really slouchy one and try to wear my long cardigan with a dress.
ReplyDeleteP.S. As my course, I decide to experiment by taking a few in modern art since I am not exactly big fan of it... I though it would be a good challenge for me to learn something completely different... Right now, we are looking at works of Klimt...I'll see how that goes, I will definately post my favorite notes from my lecture. I also have medieval course which I start tomorrow ... So I have a pretty exciting year ahead :)
sooo many fabulous ones. I have loved that picture of Isla for ages too. That orange j crew one looks to be perfect for spring too!
ReplyDeleteI love the trend of the belt over the cardigan. The problem begins when you (me in this case, ha ha) do not have the model's waist and it looks like a potatoe bag... buh!
ReplyDeleteKisses!!
Simone
i love those big sweaters near the bottom.
ReplyDeleteyour layout is so nice also!
I love the blue banner with the buttons on the diagonal- very quirky. I'm on the look out for a very sheer slouchy cardi for fall!
ReplyDeleteHey, I am back and you changed he look of you blog! I love it! the cardigan is one of my favourite piece of clothing, you can wear it with almost everything. Love the pics!
ReplyDeletei really like this new trend...because i really love fashion but hate being cold!
ReplyDeletethat peter som purple one is unreal. and the rodarte is like a brilliant cozy version of the dresses that made him stand out this year.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, too, that cardis are more wearable than ever now. I remember they were so frumpy when i was a teen, and ppl didnt like them because they didnt give much shape. that has been resolved with belts and carefully placed buttons and sizing. hehe
