i struggle with houndstooth just because SO MANY stores have super cheap versions of it- the only way I can wear it now is if it's made out of high quality material- or else i end up feeling like some skater girl with a hurley shirt. yuck.
ReplyDeleteclassic.
ReplyDeletereally loving that mayle bag.
xx.
Awesome, I've just bought a pair of red and black flats with that print! I love it!
ReplyDeletetres joli, bonjour de belgique
ReplyDeleteI like this houndstooth print very much (we call it pied the poule).
ReplyDeleteIt's a classic and so stylish. And I like the "new" way, just not b+w.
You brought us great pieces, thanks for sharing.
xoxo
Thank you very much!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteXOXOXOXO!!
I can't stand that print. Zara was so full of that last season that now, I cannot help but hate it!
ReplyDeletelove the original black and white pattern paired with a bold color ...like yellow or fuchsia.
ReplyDeleteI tried making a hounds tooth jacket once, but I eventually gave up hope. I'd rather buy one of these beauties.
ReplyDeleteLove the length of the first dresses....not big on plaid but it works on some these very nicely.
ReplyDeletebtw...slap that dress on you loved so much in my post and get yourself on the runway!
;)
me encantan la pata de gallo en todas sus versiones y colores,
ReplyDeleteQue ganas tengo de que haga frio para poder empezar a usar abrigos

I love those Gilly shoes!!! In Spanish we call this print "pata de gallo" i.e. chicken leg, not so glamorous, heheheh

ReplyDeleteawww thank you for the comment CC, i had a wonderful vacation!!! :D this post is GORGEOUS -as usual ;))) i absolutely LOVE the houndstooth print, i remember when i was little my mom had something of this pattern and even at that time i was wondering what the name for it was!!! xD xoxo, lulu ♥
ReplyDeletei love houndstooth so much but i have so little of it in my closet! great post. love the shoes, as usual!
ReplyDeleteYep, I need a plaid skirt.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind big coloured (i.e not b&w) houndstooth prints but some of the smaller black and white prints make my brain spaz out so I can't look at them. Which is a shame because they can be so chic!
ReplyDeleteGreat theme and totally fabulous selection of items CC!
ReplyDeleteHoundstooth is one of my favourite patterns - I have yet to see a houndstooth item I didn't like.
Thanks so much for your wonderful compliment and feedback on my shoes sweetie! I've decided to leave the shoes they way they are.
Also, I definitely look forward to seeing a Spring 2009 ABC post! You'll do an excellent job with that as well, I'm sure.
Take care and have a great weekend darling :)
Omg. I love Houndstooth prints. :)

ReplyDeleteThe runway loves this print lately. Interesting. =)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a little girl my mum had lots of houndstooth printed blazers, and I hated them .... but now I've changed my mind, it's cool!!
ReplyDeleteI've got a love/hate relationship to this pattern. I have a houndstooth dress, and some days I hate it while other days I love it. It's so strange! But I love the way you present this pattern, you have such fabulous posts, dear.
ReplyDeletexoxo
We used to call this fabric "pied de poule" and the larger print "pied de coq" (after the print of a hen or rooster foot). Whatever the name, it's "indemodable", i.e. something that does not go out of fashion.

ReplyDeleteI'm in love with houndstooth. I hated it at firt, and only thought it was for little kids. But now, I'm in love with it.
ReplyDeleteExcellent collection of examples. Almost makes houndstooth look reasonably cool. Can't wait 'til the fad burns out though. Like a bat on the side of a spaceshuttle.
