Couture Carrie is doing something a bit different today. CC prides herself on posting gorgeous fashions captured in amazing photos. Well, these shots are breathtaking in a different way! We’ve all seen You-Tube outtakes from beauty pageants and runway shows. These slip-ups are subtle, yet unsettling. At left: Something tells me this DSquared2 look was done purposely... but still! What happened here?

Ill-fitting shoes are the worst!
Missoni . . . and Versace
uggh!
For fashion experts only! What’s wrong with this Miu Miu picture?
So, each model's initials were embroidered in leather letters on their tshirt or whatever, and the model is called Heidi Mount, but it says MH, and all the other model have the first name and then the last name, and she's got it reversed. I think thats what you mean? Because I noticed it when I was looking on style.com last week..
ouch ouch and ouch!!! i always hate to see models wear ill-fitting shoes, and i noticed versace's fall 2008 show had some REALLY painful looking feet in shoes!! haha claudia, that's really observant, i never would have guessed!!! but i love heidi mount so i guess i should have noticed ;D xoxo, lulu
Oh man! Ill-fitting shoes are a pet peeve of mine. I can't stand when I see a gorgeous shoe but the girl wearing it got a size too big or a size too small and the shoe is either swallowing her foot or she's hanging off of it. Ahh! Poor models though. It must be even harder to walk in 6 inch heels that don't even fit to begin with. And I would have never gotten the Miu Miu thing. I'm glad someone else did because it woudl've bothered me! Haha.
darling! Entertaining really. :) Claudia is amazing. well done. I would not have guessed that one! thanks CC of your tip on 985. I will definitely try that.
I wonder how well these shoe fittings are planned out. What if a model cancels at the last minute, and she was a size 10 shoe, and the fill-in girl is a size 8, and all they have on hand is a size 10 shoe? Zoinks!
Oh, poor girl at Miu Miu--the wrong initials! Runways definitely don't seem that glamorous after this post. But I guess since fashion shows use one pair of shoes on several models it would be better for them to be too big than too small.
exactly, enc, they've got a set amount of shoes, and maybe someone cancels, or some girls may have too small or too big feet, but those shoes don't come in all sizes, they usually aren't made yet for mass consumption or never will be. Don't feel so sorry for them, it's just a walk down the runway! Probably they don't even feel the pain w/the adrenaline going. great post, more please!
Did you know D-squared is under the Diesel name? Also Vivienne Westwood... just a random fact for my favorite bloggers!
ps: you gotta give a little break to those models, being backstage in a runway show is a pain in the ass, you plan every little detail, and in the end shoes disappear, designers breakout, people don't show up... etc. Ohhh, the fashion world! What would we be without you!
Thanks for the interesting facts, Little Ramonas!! You know that type of info. is sustenance for a fashionista!
Songy - weekend is okay; yours? Always honored to be tagged; can't wait to have at it!
Anna - correct!
Claudia: you are most welcome!!
Fastidious B - good point!!
Penny - thanks for this feedback; I will continue my "runway oops" research and try to make another one of these posts asap!
xoxox, CC
P.S. Lots of fashionistas had comments/queries about models and shoe sizes. Having been to my fair share of sample sales, I can tell you that there are a lot of size 39.5 shoes on the runways . . .
Yikes, walking the runway seems like it would be hard enough -- let alone in shoes that don't fit!
ReplyDeleteDoes the Miu Miu shoes fits that poor girl's feet? Gosh! This people! By the way, the model needs an urgent pedicure...
ReplyDeleteLovely option of bare foot, that's really original option these days...
Tom
Agreed, darlings, too-big shoes and unpedicured feet are definite runway taboos . . .
ReplyDeleteCC will be sooooo impressed if someone can come up with a response to that Miu Miu query - tell CC if she should give you a hint!!
P.S. I'll post the answer tomorrow if no one gets it!
Sorry, I don't know! Great bad pictures!!
ReplyDeletehaha... no wonder models are tripping all over. poor things though.

ReplyDeleteOuch! That looks painful! and the camel toe doesn't look so comfortable either! lol...
ReplyDeleteOh yikes, those shoes paired with those feet are not runway ready!
ReplyDeleteI would never had guessed the correct answer... thank goodness for experts visiting your site!
ReplyDeleteAs a retired manicurist... YES, please fix the toes... especially if you are modeling shoes!
The shoes that models have to wear are scary sometimes.
ReplyDeletedarling!
