Matador Chic

Say olé, darlings! Intricate embroidery, boleros, and dramatic red, black and white combinations have CC reminiscing about the torero at a bullfight she once saw in the little Spanish town of Ciudad Rodrigo, outside Salamanca.

On the runways, couturiers delighted in matador-inspired details.

Want the look? ¡Corre! to Neiman Marcus for this delightful D&G tiered silk bolero.

Or tango over to Topshop for this fringed jacket.
If you are willing to take a fashion risk and don the toreador trend more literally, may I suggest Anna Sui’s velvet cape? This photo via elle.com.
And the shoes? ¡Qué fantásticos!

  2. I love the Anna Sui's cape. May be just because it's velvet, and I'm having a sort of velvet phase, but I just LOVE it.

  25. Hey Matadora Lady,
Thank you for the lovely comment.
Here he is again, Great Lacroix, olé maestro!!...I have to admit that is too baroque for me, clothes to admire from outside (well, as Haute Couture is, isn't it?), but no doubt he is a genius....and he keeps looking to Spain for inspiration, which is cool and I think really fits in his style philosophy...Lacroix is, for me, passion, personality, individualism, baroque, elegance...and many more I could say that also fit in the country.
I hadn't seen your blog before but I think it's gonna be other "fashion addiction" for me...I'll keep coming and coming. I love it.

  28. es una gran tendencia... aunque en la pasarela luzca muy dramatica, con el look correcto esa pieza es ideal para verte glamourosa.

  32. I love the matador-inspired jackets! They're almost too much to handle. There was a Vogue spread featuring Penelope Cruz a while ago, and she had really cool Spanish-culture-inspired outfits. You might want to try Googling it :)
