Shoes for Summer

Darlings, the season of weddings, BBQs, holidays and garden parties has arrived as summer tentatively dares to approach over the horizon. And if the overly long, cold and grey winter had you eating extra portions of biscuits curled up on the sofa, it’s probably best to ditch ideas of speed diets and bodycon dresses and invest in a confidence boosting pair of designer shoes instead.

Cruise Fashion offers a credit card melting selection of beautiful flats and heels. Jimmy Choo has some eye catching floral print python ankle wrap heels with a subtle platform, for those embracing the current floral theme.

However, if you’re more likely to channel The Duchess of Cambridge while out at engagements this summer, you’ll be better off with a pair of nude patent cigarette heels, unless you’re really mimicking the Duchess of Cambridge right down to her pregnancy and then a pair of smart snakeskin nude leather pumps, combining style with comfort, might be better suited.

Of course, it’s not just you that has to be dressed to impressed. Ralph Lauren shoes offer some great men’s canvas and tan brogues, which will suit a smart but summer event, where you might not necessarily want to dress in dark colours. There are also some gorgeous navy and tan saddle shoes for men, which will take the gent in your life all through the summer.

Naturally, summer’s not only about getting dressed up to the nines, some days you’ll want to relax and slip your toasty toes into something more comfortable. Jimmy Choo has trainers that offer maximum style with optimum comfort. The Tokyo crystal studded black suede and leather trainers, are retro hi tops that suit shorts or cut off dungarees for festival survival. Otherwise, the Belgravia white star studded hi tops channel the 80s vibe for late night dancing in Ibiza while the sun sets over the glowing horizon.

If you prefer more of a low pump to a hi top, Gucci has some great canvas pumps in their classic print fabric, or simply plain. Far less showy than Jimmy Choo’s niche, Gucci trainers provide an ultimate all-rounder for summer, keeping you comfortable and stylish in one fell swoop. In fact, they even offer a brogue style hi top in black leather, creating an unusual combination of retro style in a comfortable, modern shoe.

Unlike your waistline, your feet aren’t likely to fluctuate in size depending on which doughnuts are on offer in the supermarket each week, so invest in some beautiful shoes instead – they’ll always fit and always make you feel a million dollars (without having to spend that much!).

Happy summer, darlings!
