First things first, darlings! The winner of CC’s Laura Trevey Watercolor Giveaway is the lovely Not Fashionista. Call Me Stylista ~ congrats!
And now, the houndstooth hype! The classic winter pattern has been reinterpreted and relaunched, with a special thanks to Alexander McQueen, whose runway rambunctiousness has fueled many a houndstooth creation. Runway coverage via style.com except where noted.

  3. Congratulations to Not Fashionista. Call Me Stylista!

Ooh, I have been coveting that Pleated Victoria Coat from Fred Flare since I first laid eyes on it a few months ago. That is the piece de resistance of houndstooth coats, if you ask me! :)

  4. Also i love the fashions above I have a dislike of "houndstooth pattern". When I was a 'fillette' in France my maman dressed me in this pattern and somhow I disliked it, I wanted cigarette pants and other fashions which where in mamn's eyes a non-non (to sexy). I never got over it.

You will forgive me this time gentille Carrie, oui?

  5. All beautiful as ever, houndstooth just never looses the ability to flatter and accentuate. The LePore, McCartney and Sherman pieces are sensational.

    Hurry up autumn....

  13. I have a pink and brown houndstooth coat I bought years ago from Bebe - this makes me excited to wear it again. Well, somewhat (it's a warm coat therefore signifies winter)

I also had those houndstooth Steve Madden heels I was trying to sell cuz they were two sizes too big - ended up giving them to my bf's sister!

  58. i find houndstooth to frequently look cheap
but the pieces youve chosen still stay chic

  60. Thank you for the birthday wishes, Carrie. It really means a lot to me.

I remember this pattern being "in" a few years ago. I guess it's making a come back. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot of it in winter, esp coats and scarves.

Hope you're having a great week, Carrie.

  61. i like to remain at the classic black and white version, i dont like when they come out with wild colors in it, it totally takes away the sophistication of it, but houndstooth is still an amazing piece of pattern to have in your wardrobe, for a coat! no doubt!
