CC loves Jonathan Saunders!

Designer Jonathan Saunders graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2002 and has been showing and impressing in London for several seasons now. Considered one of the “It Brits” of the moment, Saunders creates colorful and whimsical frocks that flatter a woman’s physique and delight the eye! As Mr. Saunders reported to interviewer Nicole Phelps of Style.com, he sought to infuse the 34 looks in his SS09 collection with "Color… I wanted a bit of playfulness, something uplifting in these trying times."
This, after a predominantly camel-colored Fall 2008 Collection, was a welcome sight!

  12. To be so young (in fashion designer years) he has such a clear, distinctive and innovative vision. He is amazing. His masterful use of prints is by far the best the industry has seen since Emilio Pucci. His collections always make me envious of womenswear lol. I hope he jumps into menswear.

  13. I loved the tans of his Fall stuff, but the color is fabulous as well!! Maybe it's just me, but even though it's colorful it still feels kind of subdued and controlled, nothing wacky and frenzied about it.

  14. Thanks for the intro to his hot young designer! I love his use of color blocking, it's all very modern and so fun!

  15. Humm... Isn't that style very "30's" like?? Is it something to do with the world economy? ;) Lovely line, very geometric, and the colors, colorful, yet sober..
Hey, Carrie, why don't you do a post about hair and make up tendences? I am curious now... ;))

  21. Thanks for the link to your make up post, Carrie!
And, as I suspected, it is indeed, very much like the 30's style, even the make up. Is it or is it no? Those eyebown, the shadows, the make up, marking the geometry of the face. Lovely. Very sober and "atrevido".

  60. I can't seem to like the olive colored satin-y elements mixed with the black, blue, and white. Other than that, the designs themselves are quite chic and well though out by Mr. Saunders! We <3
