N is for Navy!

In constrast to the sailor-cute marines of summer, autumn's deep blues are sophisticated, polished, and extremely versatile.

Remember, darlings: combining navy and black is no longer a fashion faux pas!

  8. I used to hate navy due to childhood trauma (a pair of awful navy corduroys). Now I'm liking it more as long as it really looks blue and not almost-black.

  9. This is absolutely gorgeous, I love navy as an interesting yet understated alternative to black. Love the Valentino dress, oh and the Chloé one is simply a work of art!

  10. I am obsessed with navy for this fall. I think a lot of people think it's boring or too old so they overlook it but it's really elegant and, like emily said, a great alternative to black! So many people turn to plums and oranges in the autumn, which are great, but navy is just so classic and sets the wearer apart in my opinion!

  27. I swear, I always end up saving half the pictures you post as inspiration. You pick the loveliest things... I dig navy, especially with collars! Something about that combination is perfect and feminine! I need to get more of it instead of just black.

PS: Read that you reject pictures with too thin models. Love you for it.

  28. it's so weird how a certain color creeps up on you and then you realize half your closet or drawers are full of it. that's me and navy. it's not something i intentionally do but it seems to fit me because i own a lot of navy things. along with grey! have you done a post on grey yet? if not -- maybe a good suggestion?
